Make reCAPTCHA better and optional

It appears that all forms submitted are required to go through the the reCAPTCHA process. I suspect this audience knows that this a really annoying process, and I am fearful that we are not getting applications that we would otherwise get. I do understand the purpose of reCAPTCHA , however, its really not always required, in fact, I suspect it's rarely required. That said when you need it, you need it.

I would love to see the following:

      1. Allow site/form administrators to configure any given online form with this feature, default can be on.
      2. Use a better CAPTCHA, see this link for a list of potential alternatives: http://www.dtelepathy.com/blog/design/captcha-alternatives-better-ux
      3. Add a service side process that can enable the CAPTCHA feature under some use-cases to protect the system

Please note that the vast majority of rescues are small organizations with relatively small audience and suspect that the orginal issue that inspired adding the CAPTCHA requirement was a more isolated issue. As things stand, I fear that a significant percentage of our users see the CAPTCHA challenge and just leave.
